MUFB Episode 4, Part 2: The #1 Movie in the World

May, 7, 2013 Part 2
The #1 Movie in the World
Hello again! Welcome to the second part of episode four. Before I continue where I left off, I wanted to write a little a bit about the huge success of Iron Man 3. In my opinion, I think that Iron Man 3 was an awesome movie. With Shane Black as the new director, I think this movie had a different but familiar feel. But I don't think I'll finish writing about the movie because I got some important news from other movies. Sorry to disappoint. But anyway, I wanted to talk about The Wolverine movie. If your wondering, I'm not that excited for this movie. I'll still go watch it though. I'd be really excited if Gambit was in it. I was hoping and crossing my fingers the whole way but once I found out the film was going to be based in Japan I started to lose hope. I was also hoping Deadpool might be in it but then I found out he's getting his own movie. So this movie, as I said, is probably mostly going to be based in Japan. The villain is going to be the Silver Samurai. To be honest I don't know much about this villain. Oh and speaking of, I recently found a Silver Samurai movie poster. Here it is:
After seeing this, I can't wait to see the Silver Samurai facing of against Wolverine. There has also been two trailers I believe for the film. So The Wolverine is coming out in July. Not much has been said on Marvel.com about the movie accept maybe some images from the film. (I'm about to go off topic here) But as I was scrolling down the news reel for The Wolverine I came across the article that seemed interesting to me, so, I read it. I never did mention it in my previous blog episodes because of my excitement for Iron Man 3 but there is going to be a new X-men movie called "X-men: Days of Future Past." That's what the article was mostly about. But anyway, I don't have any plot details on this movie yet. The name tells me there might be something to do with time-travel. The article also said there will be a reboot of the Fantastic Four. I never thought they'd do another Fantastic Four movie because Chris Evans played Human Torch and then he Captain America. But I think they might cast somebody else for the part. Hopefully somebody that's good because the Human Torch is none other than one of my favourite heroes. I'm excited for this movie because I always did like the Fantastic Four. I've really enjoyed the two movies especially the Rise of Silver Surfer. Hopefully they'll do a good job on the Thing. I think they need to make him a bit more bigger than the one in the previous movies. Because in the comics the Thing is almost the same size as the Hulk. I'm not sure if this new Fantastic Four reboot will have the same actors as the previous movies but I can say it will be directed by Josh Trank. I think the X-men movie and Fantastic Four movie will do really well once there released. And I'm equally excited for both.
I got to say, all these new Marvel movies have left me quite blown away. I'm going to try to list them all:

  • The Wolverine, which is the next Marvel movie after Iron Man 3
  • Thor: The Dark World in November
  • Guardians of the Galaxy
  • Amazing Spider-man 2 with Rhino and Electro
  • The Avengers Prequel
  • Ant-man
  • Fantastic Four
  • X-men Days of Future Past
  • Deadpool's very own movie
Did I miss any? I feel like I did. I don't think the X-men movies are part of phase 2 but can you believe that this is only phase 2?! 2013 and 2014 are going to be long years full of Marvel. I don't know how Superman and Star Trek are going to make their mark after Iron Man 3 and The Wolverine coming up. But I know, all these movies are still months, even years away. (Yeah, I can't wait either) Well, there's no need to worry. There will be several new Marvel TV shows coming up. The first new TV show is "Marvel's Avengers Assemble". This TV show will feature the Avengers. I'm hoping this show will be as enjoyable as "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes", which is the most recent Avengers TV show. So far Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Falcon have been confirmed for this series.
Surprisingly it seems that Captain America won't make an appearance in this series. Or maybe they'll find him later on in series like in Avengers EMH. The animation style looks a little similar to the Ultimate Spider-man series. So I'm quite excited for this series. There will be a one-hour sneak peek preview on Disney XD May 26. (At 11:00 am ET) And get excited Hulk fans cause' Hulk's getting his own TV series. His series will be called "Marvel's Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H."
I don't think Hulk's gotten his own TV show in awhile. I must honestly say I'am not a big Hulk fan. I'm a fan but not a big fan. So this series has an interesting title. (I'm trying to figure out what S.M.A.S.H. stands for) This series will be about Hulk along with other "Hulks". (Basically a team of smashing Hulks) Yeah, I'm totally not good at explaining this. You guys can go here  and watch the video that explains the series better. I believe both of these series will be showed on Disney XD. I'am not sure if Ultimate Spider-man will continue. I hope it will, I've really enjoyed. Also there will be a live-action TV series showing on ABC. You may of already heard of it. It's called "Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D." We were all so upset when Agent Coulson died in Avengers. But there's no need to sulk any longer! Phil Coulson (Uh, his first name is Agent) is alive! Yes, this series is based after the Avengers and Coulson lives! Yay! This series will be about a team of agents: Phil Coulson, Grant Ward, Leo Fitz, Jemma Simmons, and Melinda May.
And above is there S.H.I.E.L.D ID cards. I'll have to talk more on this series later. This blog episode is getting pretty long. I think I'll end it here. But before I go, I have some more Silver Samurai images from the latest trailer of The Wolverine.
A strange (and frankly kind of weird Silver Samurai. He was moving pretty fast so I coudn't get a clear picture of him.
Another look at him.
And then it looks like he got a upgrade which is totally AWESOME! Kinda reminds me of a Transformer. Sorry about not showing any videos. It just takes a long to load and upload. I'll try to show some next time! OK, then. See you all! I really hope you all enjoyed and come back again for episode 5. Bye!

MUFB Episode 4, Part 1: Iron Man 3 Midnight Madness

May 3, 2013 Part 1
Iron Man 3 Midnight Madness
Hello there! Welcome to the fourth episode of Marvel Universe Fan Blog! Well here's some good news: I got to go to the midnight showing of Iron Man 3. I must say before I say anything else that Iron Man 3 was an epic movie. It was definitely worth that long wait. In this episode I'm going to write all about the movie. Be warned, there is going to be a LOT of spoilers. So if you haven't watched it yet and you don't want to know what happens, don't read this. Well I got to the movie theatre around 10:30 pm. The waiting line was already pretty long and I had to wait for an hour and thirty minutes. (I played Super Mario Bros. 2 on the Nintendo 3Ds while I was waiting) Around 11:45 pm, they let us in the theatre. Strangely, the midnight showing wasn't in 3D and I was a bit disappointed. But I'll go watch it again and hopefully watch in 3D. Anyway, I got some good seats and it was several minutes until they started playing the preview. What was really exciting was to see the Thor 2 trailer up on the big screen. It got me more excited to go see it this November, I'm surprised they didn't play The Wolverine trailer. So then the movie started and I became really excited. It opened up with Tony Stark speaking about the "old days." Then it  showed a flash back from 1999 in Switzerland, it was New Years. Tony Stark was there with Maya Hansen, Happy Hogan, and Aldrich Killian. Yinsen was also there. If you remember from the first Iron Man the man in the cave with Tony said he met Tony some years back in Switzerland. Yinsen looks a bit different in Iron Man 3 but if you look closely you'll remember him. After that Tony meets Aldrich Killian. Killian talks to Tony about the "Advanced Ideal Mechanics" or A.I.M. Tony then tells Killian to meet him up on the roof in five minutes. But Tony never did show up. So then the rest of the story is based around Christmas time after the events from The Avengers. Tony is down in his "workshop" (or armoury) putting some sort of technology in his arm so the Mark 42 can track it somehow and the assemble on to him in separate pieces. (Honestly I don't really know what he was putting in his arm. That's what I just assumed he was doing) Then he goes through a test with the Mark 42. And let's just say it could have gone better.
I don't want to give the whole movie away so I'll make this next part brief and I might skip some parts. So then Pepper meets Aldrich Killian again and he shows her what he's been working on. Happy get's a little suspicious but then Tony calls him on his ipad. (And at this moment we realize that Happy Hogan is not a super technology genius) Happy tells Tony he's a bit suspicious of this guy that's with Killian. His name is Savin and he's a bad guy. Savin then goes to the Chinese theatre I believe. Savin injects this other guy with Extremis. Then as Savin's leaving he runs into Happy whose been following him. The man injected with Extremis then explodes. (Yes explodes.) Happy is badly injured but since Savin has been injected with Extremis he survives and get's away. Happy is then in the hospital and is visited by Tony. But Happy goes into a coma, so then Tony get's upset. When he walks outside there are a bunch of news reporters. Then, as Tony's about to get in to his car this guy asks a really awkward question: "So when are you going to kill him?" (Meaning the Mandarin) So then Tony sends "a holiday greeting" to the Mandarin. Tony goes on about revenge and taking down the Mandarin. And then he foolishly gives the Mandarin his address. (Like there's one person on earth that doesn't know where a billionaire lives) Then Tony get's home. He get's to work on studying what happened at the explosion at the Chinese theatre. When looking at all the attacks from the Mandarin and one attack in Tennessee had a temperature reading of 3000 degrees Celsius. So then Jarvis set's a flight for Tennessee. After that Maya Hansen arrives. Tony approaches her with the suit on thinking she's the Mandarin. At first he acts like he doesn't know her but I think he knew who she was. Pepper then comes downstairs with her bags. She's been trying to get Tony to move out of the house since he gave the Mandarin his address. So Pepper and Tony are fighting when Maya notices on the news on the TV is talking about Tony's threat to the Mandarin. Then three new helicopters are set into a position in front of Tony's mansion. The first helicopter shoots a missile right into the mansion. Tony sends the Mark 42 to assemble onto Pepper to keep her safe. Pepper helps Maya get out of the mansion but Tony is still in there. After they're safely away Tony calls back the Mark 42 to assemble onto him. Even though Jarvis warns him that the Mark 42 is not battle-ready, he still manages to take down two of the helicopters but there's one left.
But then Tony slips down into the ocean below. He's almost buried in debris but Jarvis disassembles the arm piece off of Tony to pull him out of the rubble. Now I can't quite remember but I think Tony starts to lose conciousness at this point. Later, Jarvis wakes him up while flying. Jarvis then tell's Tony that the Mark 42 has only 5% of power left. Tony then crashes in the...the snow? Tony is then getting confused and then asks Jarvis where he is. Jarvis tells him that he is in Tennessee and Tony is not very happy with Jarvis. But Jarvis tells him he arranged a flight plan but I think Tennessee is not where Tony would want to be at this point. The suit then powers down. Tony finds a gas station and sends a message to Pepper telling her that he is OK. After that Tony finds a garage to  set down his armour. Then a young kid comes in... with a potato gun. The kid's name is Harley. Tony then shows him the Mark 42 armour. Tony needs help so he makes a deal with Harley. I'm going to just quickly go over this next part. So Harley get's the stuff Tony needs. Then Tony finds where the explosion he wanted to take a look at. One man was the centre of the explosion. Tony then meet's up with the mother of that man. The mother gives him a file with information on her son. Then a lady comes in and "arrests" Tony. (The woman's name is Brandit.) Then Tony sneaks off while Brandit's speaking to someone. Then there's a lot of intense action. Savin is there also. After some battling Tony manages to beat both of them, with some help from Harley. Tony then takes Savin's car, Harley wants to come with him but Tony says no. Tony then calls Rhodey who is in the middle of trying to find the Mandarin. Tony asks for Rhodey's password and username for some sort of Military database. (I don't know what it was) Even though Rhodey didn't really want to give his password, he gave it to him anyway.(It was "WarMachineRox) Tony then had to get into the database or whatever it was. There was some sort of Christmas party with news vans nearby. Tony sneaked into one when suddenly someone else came in. The guy was on the phone until he saw Tony. He tells Tony that he is his biggest fan.
But Tony doesn't have time to sign autographs, instead he asked him (I believe his name is Gary) for help. So then Tony finds that database thingy. There's then a video of people being injected with Extremis. When one person was injected with it he somehow exploded, just like in the incident with Happy.  I'm sorry to interrupt but I'm going to have to stop here. I will tell the rest of the movie in a part 2 I guess. Thanks for reading though and please keep an eye out for part 2. Again, thanks for reading. Before I go I got some concept art here from Captain America: The Winter Solider and Guardians of the Galaxy. I'll have some more images next time. Enjoy and thanks again!

MUFB Episode 3: Movies and Video Games

May 1, 2013 Wednesday
Movies and Video Games
Hello, again! This is the third Marvel Universe Fan Blog! This time I'm going to write about some upcoming Marvel movies and upcoming Marvel video games. So let's start off with LEGO Marvel Super Heroes. There's been many LEGO games throughout the years. The most recent have been LEGO City, LEGO Lord of the Rings, and LEGO Batman 2 DC Super Heroes. And now we finally get to play the Marvel heroes in LEGO form. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes will be available for the Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3Ds, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, and the Wii U. It's a single and multi-player game, depending on which platform. The game will be available this Fall. The game will be similar to all the other LEGO games. There will hopefully be a wide range of playable characters and each character will come with unique abilities. For example, as Spider-man you would be able to use his web-shooters as you would use them as grappling hooks in LEGO Batman 2. As Iron Man or Thor, you'd be able to fly. I'm hoping that this game will be similar to LEGO City where you have to travel around a city to reach your location, not like a game where you chose what level your going to play from a level selection screen. The main setting for the game will be a LEGO version of New York City. It's quite likely Stark Tower, the Baxter Building, and maybe even an Avengers Mansion might be added to the LEGO New York City. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes will offer an original storyline where Nick Fury, directer of S.H.I.E.L.D, calls upon many heroes to save earth from threats such as Loki and Galactus, Devourer of the Worlds. There is also the Cosmic Bricks, which would be similar to Super Bricks or Mithril Bricks in previous LEGO games. There will be a wide range of playable characters. All the confirmed characters I have for now is Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Spider-man, Thor, Captain America, Wolverine, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Human Torch, The Thing, Invisible Woman, and Deadpool. And you'll possibly get to play these villains as well: Abomination, Sandman, Loki, Magneto, and Dr. Doom.
Tony Stark aka Iron Man
Sandman

Abomination
I'm especially excited to see how well the graphics look on the Wii U, since the Wii U has HD graphics on it's games. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes will also be one of the newer LEGO games where the characters speak. In older LEGO games the characters only made grunts and hand gestures. Speaking of (Ha, get it? I'm writing about speaking then...Oh, never-mind. It's not funny when you explain it.) a video was released showing a walk-through of one of the levels from LEGO Marvel Super Heroes. Here it is:

So that was a look at the game. I, for one, is quite excited for this game. I've played previous LEGO games like LEGO City, LEGO Batman 2, LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Indiana Jones, and LEGO Lord of the Rings. Still, it's quite a long wait till' this comes out, but I'll bring a lot more news on it. Anyway, last time I wrote about the upcoming Marvel movies. I wanted to write just a little bit about The Amazing Spider-man 2. So in the first Amazing Spider-man fought the Lizard. At the end, during the credits, we see Curt Connors (The Lizard) being put in prison. Someone suddenly appears although we cannot see his face. From the looks of it he's probably a bad-guy (obviously) and he looks sort of old. I had a thought that this guy might be Norman Osborn. Norman or his son wasn't in the movie but he was mentioned. It was just a thought. It's possible characters from the old Spider-man movies might return in this sequel. For example: Mary-Jane Watson, J. Jonah Jameson, or Norman Osborn. But I do know that the villains will be Electro and Rhino.
Whenever I see a picture of Electro I always think of Spider-man making fun of his starfish-shaped mask from The Amazing Spider-man TV show. Sorry, totally off topic. The Rhino will probably look similar to the version of Rhino from the Amazing Spider-man video game. I'm not quite sure what Electro will look like. So I think I'll end this episode here. (By the way, I'm going to start calling the blog posts "episodes") I hope you all enjoyed! I'm really excited for the LEGO Marvel game. I'm not sure when I'll post the next episode since Iron Man 3 is Friday. Perhaps I'll wait until I watch it then I could give a bunch of spoilers next time! Today I'm going to watch the first Iron Man then tomorrow I'm going to watch Iron Man 2. Then on Friday I'm going to the theatres Friday to watch Iron Man 3! So I'll post the next episode either Friday or Saturday. So I hope you liked today's episode! Before I conclude here's the first LEGO Marvel Super Heroes trailer!
And check the "Featured Marvel Videos" tab to see a clip from Iron Man 3! Thanks for reading everyone! Till' next time.
